Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is seeking a Lifeguard, per diem (as needed) year round to oversee pool safety and provide a safe, engaging environment in the club's pool area. Shifts range from occasional hours to multi-week coverages, with possible scheduling Monday–Friday 2:30pm–8pm.

The role requires passing the written lifeguard test and rescue scenarios, reliable transportation, and current Red Cross lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree (or equivalent) preferred.
• Certification: Must have current RED CROSS lifeguard certification; CPR/AED, and First Aid Certified.
• Experience: Prior lifeguard, swim team, or experience teaching swim lessons, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow established Red Cross protocol and guidelines.
• Assist with swim lessons and pool safety instruction when appropriate.
• Maintain Massachusetts state regulations for lifeguard/swimmer ratio 4.
• Ensure the safety of all members at all times.
