Job summary

Children's Home is seeking a lifeguard to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas, with emphasis on vigilance and emergency readiness.

Qualified applicants must pass an advance swimming and rescue skills test and hold lifeguard, CPR for the professional rescuer, First Aid and AED certifications. A driver's license and reliable insurability are required. This part-time role offers $18 per hour with flexible hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must pass advance swimming and rescue skills test
• Lifeguard, CPR for the professional rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications required
• Driver's license and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe conditions in pool, deck and surrounding areas
• Scan zone from bottom to top and apply 10/10 rule
• Perform swim tests as required
• Enforce health and safety rules and maintain emergency readiness
• Respond to emergencies per STCC policies and file incident/accident reports
• Maintain cleanliness of pool and surrounding areas
• Check rescue equipment and report problems promptly
• Set up and remove equipment for recreational swims
• Develop rapport with members, participants and staff
• Uphold STCC core values in interactions with people
• Work scheduled shifts with substitutes approved by Aquatics Director
