RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant PD-Registered Nurse to support Mothers, Infants and Staff at Monmouth Medical Center. The role emphasizes breastfeeding support and clinical nursing expertise in a per diem capacity.

As an RN, you will perform assessments, administer evidence-based care, educate families, document in EPIC, and collaborate with the medical team to ensure safe, continuous care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year Mother Baby patient care experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS & NRP certifications.
• ICBLC Certification and Lactation Consultant experience required.
• Comfort with EPIC EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes; intervene early and advocate for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers to support timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for next care steps.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
• Collaborate in a highly collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through continuing education and ladder opportunities.
