Job summary

Arnot Health is seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Technician to join the L&D team on a per diem basis. The role provides vital technical and clinical support under a registered nurse, contributing to safe labor, delivery, and recovery care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, on-the-job training or surgical tech schooling, and a preference for NYS LPN licensure. Prior hospital experience and BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with on-the-job training or graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Current NYS LPN licensure preferred.
• Minimum one year hospital experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an orderly surgical field for quick, efficient instrument handling.
• Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed during procedures.
• Assists in tissue retraction, suture cutting, and wound care as directed.
• Counts sponges, needles and instruments before, during, and after surgery.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and aseptic technique to prevent contamination.
