Job summary

Montage Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for per diem Labor & Delivery coverage in California. The RN will provide care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum, including newborn care, under supervisory leadership.

The role emphasizes baby-friendly practices, safety, and teamwork in a high-paced environment. Requirements include California RN license, NRP/EFM training, BLS, ACLS before orientation, and 2+ years post-L&D experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Labor & Delivery training program with 2 years of experience post L&D training; prefer at least 5 years of current labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Knowledge of hemodynamics and basic IV skills, and thorough understanding of fetal monitoring equipment and tracings.
• Excellent assessment skills, above average critical thinking, ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environment; work autonomously and as a team.
• Scrub skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed medication and treatments, assist physicians during procedures, monitor patient condition and notify physicians as appropriate.
• Care for antepartum, labor, delivery, circulating, recovery, postpartum, and normal newborn/couplet care.
• Orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duties as assigned.
