Job summary

University of Washington is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for UW Medical Center-Northwest Outpatient Infusion Center in Seattle, WA. The role offers per diem, part-time hours with shifts including days and weekends.

You will screen patients, administer medications, perform venipuncture, manage IV therapy, and monitor during and after infusions in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Required: 2 years infusion therapy nursing experience, active WA RN license, BLS, strong IV/phlebotomy skills;

Qualifications

• 2 years of infusion therapy nursing experience required.
• Strong IV placement and phlebotomy skills required.
• Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Screens patients for infusions and treatments.
• Administers medications, steroids, chemotherapy, and blood products.
• Performs venipuncture and accesses implanted ports.
• Places IVs and observes patients during infusions.
• Disconnects IVs and monitors patients post-infusion.
• Programs portable infusion pumps and explains usage to patients/caregivers.
• Cleans pumps after use and documents proper usage.
• Calculates medication dosages with physician guidance.
• Follows OSHA guidelines for cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste.
