Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking a Pharmacist to perform hospital pharmacy duties, including dispensing, order review, and patient counseling, with collaboration across care teams.

Requires NYS Pharmacist license and at least three years hospital experience or residency; BS or PharmD required, with CE credits maintained annually. Day shift with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS or PharmD).
• Valid NYS Pharmacist license and registration.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a pharmacist in hospital setting or completion of Pharmacy residency.
• Maintains professional competence through continuing education (15 CE credits per year).

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses all types of medications using standard practices for unit dose distribution and sterile/non-sterile compounding.
• Reviews medication orders for accuracy, completeness and therapeutic appropriateness.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and provides drug information to physicians and care teams.
• Directs and trains pharmacy staff and residents; supervises graduates and residents as assigned.
• Monitors drug therapy effectiveness and documents parameters and results.

Education

BS or Doctor of Pharmacy

PharmD or MS degree with Pharmacy Residency as substitute
