Job summary

San Benito Health Care District in California is seeking a Per Diem Housekeeper to perform cleaning and disinfecting throughout the Hospital to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, this role covers floor care, waste and linen removal, and general housekeeping duties, with variable shifts and hourly pay between $27 and $36.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Housekeeping experience and knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment preferred, but not required.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and performing routine, repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient and non-patient areas according to established standards.
• Perform floor care and routine cleaning using appropriate chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Collect and remove trash and soiled linen according to established procedures.
• Maintain assigned areas, equipment, and storage spaces in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete assigned duties efficiently and assist with additional areas or tasks based on operational needs.
• Provide courteous and professional service while working collaboratively with patients, visitors, and Hospital staff.
