Job summary

NYU Langone Hospitals is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner in the Hematology/Oncology area based in Brooklyn. The role involves provisioning and coordinating comprehensive nursing care within a collaborative physician practice and NYU Hospitals Center guidelines.

Responsibilities include patient care planning, outcomes monitoring, and participation in clinical studies, with emphasis on evidence-based practice, cost effectiveness, and education of staff.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Registered Nurse license and Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• ANCC or Board Certification in a clinical NP area preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Licenses: RN-NYS, NP-NYS, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize care to meet patient needs and ensure efficient use of clinical resources.
• Monitor cost-effectiveness and performance indicators for the service.
• Assist in research protocols and participate in clinical studies.
• Collaborate with nursing and other disciplines on care plans.
• Use evidence-based literature to inform practice changes.
• Contribute to patient outcomes monitoring for quality improvement.
• Serve as a clinical educator for peers and staff.
• Maintain current expertise and promote professional development.
• Consider age and cultural needs in patient care.
• Evaluate and modify treatment plans per standards and protocols.
• Prescribe medications and therapies per NYS law and practice protocol.
• Coordinate communication with physicians, staff, and families.
