Job summary

Queens Community House is seeking a dependable HDML Specialist to support the Home Delivered Meals program in Queens, NY. You will prepare, package, and transport meals, ensuring food safety and accurate logs, while delivering compassion and connection to homebound clients.

Per diem position with pay of $19.00 per hour; flexible schedule based on program needs. Ideal candidates have a NY driver’s license, clean driving record, and strong customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record in the last 24 months.
• No DUI or DWI convictions.
• At least 3 years of driving experience in New York City.
• Knowledge of Queens roads and NY traffic laws.
• Strong work ethic; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Able to lift and carry 10–20 pounds.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, packaging, and transportation of home-delivered meals.
• Use heating/cooling equipment to maintain food safety.
• Package meals into containers for daily distribution.
• Deliver meals safely and efficiently to homebound clients.
• Maintain temperature logs for hot, cold, and frozen meals.
• Follow delivery routes and monitor supplies.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and document using GEOTAB.
• Report missed deliveries and client absences promptly.
• Observe changes in client condition and report safety concerns.
