Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health's Winchester Hospital is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon to join our per-diem team in a community hospital setting. The role covers elective and emergency general surgery with on-call and inpatient responsibilities, collaborating with anesthesia, APPs, and nursing, and documenting in Epic.

This on-site position offers flexible per-diem scheduling, daytime and night coverage, and competitive hourly pay with on-call rates.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited medical school and board eligibility/certification in General Surgery.
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency.
• Current, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
• Active DEA and MCSR registrations appropriate for practice.
• Experience with Epic EHR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency general surgery procedures.
• Provide surgical call coverage, rounding, and inpatient consultations.
• Evaluate and manage acute surgical cases presenting to the ED.
• Deliver comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, APPs, and nurses.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic.
