Job summary

Popcorn for the People is hiring an Event Associate to represent us at local events around Philadelphia. You will support sales, distribute samples, and assist with production operations in a team-focused environment.

This position offers a per diem schedule with a pay rate of $17.83 per hour, plus daily pay options and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven organization dedicated to creating meaningful employment for adults with autism and other disabilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and community members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to learn and operate a POS system on an iPad.
• Reliable transportation to assigned event locations.
• Ability to work a flexible per diem schedule based on event and production needs.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• As an Event Associate, attend assigned local events (farmers markets, sporting events, local shops, service plazas, corporate offices, and other community venues).
• Assist the Event Lead with event setup, breakdown, and daily operations.
• Engage customers and community members in a friendly and professional manner.
• Hand out product samples and provide information about Popcorn for the People.
• Process transactions using a POS system on an iPad.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming event space.
• Assist in the production facility as needed.
• Support inventory, product preparation, and packaging activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
