Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to join our nationwide 24/7 ER network. You will handle a range of emergencies, including surgeries and endoscopy, with a mentorship-focused culture and opportunities for growth.

As a VEGgie, you’ll work in a fast-paced hospital floor, collaborating with a team to provide top-quality care, while benefiting from flexible scheduling and ongoing CE through VEG Education programs.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Emergency medicine and endoscopy experience required.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam.
• Perform examinations, ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies.
• Create a diagnostic and therapeutic plan and communicate with clients.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopy.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention.
