Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a Per Diem/Casual Environmental Services worker to maintain clean, safe patient rooms, offices, and hallways in a hospital setting. You will sanitize areas, manage supplies, and assist with waste disposal and basic clerical tasks as required.

The role requires HS Diploma or GED and the ability to work independently or in a team, with varied shifts and weekend requirements. Experience in health-care cleaning is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment and proper cleaning procedures.
• Ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, or schedule form.
• Strong written and verbal communication with peers, supervisors, patients, and hospital staff.
• Excellent time management and organization to meet deadlines and follow procedures.
• Operate basic environmental service equipment including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, attractive and safe environment in assigned areas.
• Distributes supplies and maintains stock levels.
• Sanitizes public areas and private rooms to prevent infection spread.
• Removes, transports and disposes of regular and hazardous waste safely.
• Perform clerical tasks such as updating patient records and incident reports.
