Job summary

EMT - Per Diem role at Main Line Health's Riddle EMS delivers essential pre-hospital care, leading as needed and following established treatment protocols. The position supports emergent care delivery in fast-paced environments and integrates with a coordinated EMS team.

Preferred candidates have two years of pre-hospital BLS experience, PA DOH EMT certification, and current BCLS. Per diem hours include a 36-hour monthly expectation with weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medications carried for use by EMT-Paramedic across age groups.
  • Ability to assess and manage care and operate basic equipment.

Responsibilities

The EMT is a leader, and integral component, of the pre-hospital care provider team, providing basic life support and facilitating advanced life support to any individual in need of care in time of sudden illness or injury. In this fast-paced role, you would provide emergent care in a pre-hospital setting, maintaining treatment standards and protocols. Position:

EMT - Per Diem

Shift:

36 hours a month, including one weekend

Experience:
  • 1. Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience preferred.
  • 2. Knowledge of medications carried for use by the EMT-Paramedic in the treatment and management of neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • 3. Knowledge of basic and advanced life support and resuscitation procedures for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • 4. Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately assess and manage care.
  • 5. Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately operate basic equipment and assist with the operation of advanced equipment.
Education:
  • 1. High school graduate.
  • 2. Successful completion of an approved EMT-MAST program or its equivalent.
  • 3. Satisfactory completion of practical and written examinations administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Licensures/Certifications:
  • 1. Current Pennsylvania certification as an EMT or NREMT.
  • 2. Current driver’s license valid in Pennsylvania with a copy on file.
  • 3. Current BCLS certification.
  • 4. Hazmat Awareness, and EVOC all are required.
  • 5. Other certifications are encouraged, such as: NREMT, PHTLS, BTLS, Fire I or equivalent.
