Job summary

Main Line Health is seeking a Per Diem EMT to join the EMS team in Media, PA. The role focuses on delivering high-quality pre-hospital care, leading emergent interventions, and supporting both basic and advanced life support within a team-based environment.

The position emphasizes adherence to clinical standards, ongoing education, and professional growth opportunities through MLH Education & Development. Parking is provided, and employees receive various activity discounts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medications carried for use by EMT-Paramedic level.
  • Current Pennsylvania EMT or NREMT certification.
  • Current PA driver’s license on file.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Hazmat Awareness and EVOC required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic life support and assist with advanced life support in a pre-hospital setting.
  • Lead emergent care and coordinate with team to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain treatment standards and adhere to protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing education and performance reviews.

EMT - Per Diem

Shift

36 hours a month, including one weekend

Experience
  • Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medications carried for use by the EMT-Paramedic in the treatment and management of neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced life support and resuscitation procedures for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately assess and manage care.
  • Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately operate basic equipment and assist with the operation of advanced equipment.
Education
  • High school graduate.
  • Successful completion of an approved EMT-MAST program or its equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of practical and written examinations administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Licensures/Certifications
  • Current Pennsylvania certification as an EMT or NREMT.
  • Current driver’s license valid in Pennsylvania with a copy on file.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Hazmat Awareness, and EVOC all are required.
  • Other certifications are encouraged, such as: NREMT, PHTLS, BTLS, Fire I or equivalent.
