Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Communication Specialist Paramedic to operate the Charleston MEDBASE Communications Center, coordinating medical command for region 3/4 and dispatching aeromedical and inpatient transport.

You will relay vital patient care directives, maintain FCC-compliant procedures, and coordinate EMS Region III/IV medical protocols, with varying shifts and per diem status.

Qualifications

• Certification as EMT-Paramedic is required.
• Ability to operate MEDBASE communications and coordinate transports.
• Knowledge of FCC regulations and medical transmission protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate the MEDBASE Communications Center effectively.
• Relay verbal communications to patient care teams and EMS personnel.
• Coordinate aeromedical transport requests and LZ locations.
• Maintain documentation and MEDBASE database.
• Communicate receiving facilities and EMS protocols per region III/IV.
