Qualifications

• BLS certification must be current.
• Credential (at least one required or completed within 6 months of eligibility).
• Minimum one-year experience highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records for patient history and supporting clinical data.
• Explain procedure to patient; provide patient care, support, comfort, safety and confidentiality.
• Select equipment and imaging modalities, position and prep, to facilitate optimum diagnostic studies.
• Perform all echocardiography examinations offered at this facility.
• Display a broad knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology to obtain optimal studies.
• Direct study to Cardiologist for interpretation and assist with interpretation.
• Maintain ultrasonography equipment; recognize malfunctions and arrange servicing; ensure quality control.
