Job summary

College Medical Center Long Beach seeks a Per Diem Echo Sonographer to perform invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic tests as ordered by physicians, in accordance with established standards.

The Sonographer will assist physicians with diagnostic procedures, install, configure, and support the Echocardiogram Sonographer Systems across the LAN and WAN, and ensure accurate, reliable test results.

Qualifications

• RDCS credential from ARDMS.
• AS degree in Cardiovascular Technology.
• 1 year of clinical cardiac ultrasound experience preferred.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR).
• CPI certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with networking and digital hospital systems.
• Proficiency with DICOM and Echo Lab platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiology diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians; chart tests and calculations.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records and information.
• Provide preliminary reports to attending physicians and nursing staff for abnormal findings.
• Check equipment and supplies; perform minor troubleshooting.
• Assist in new employee orientation and serve as a preceptor when requested.
• Complete cardiopulmonary billing accurately and timely.
• Address patient needs across varying age groups.
