Job summary

College Medical Center Long Beach is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer to perform a variety of ultrasound exams following established protocols and quality standards. You’ll produce high-quality images and preliminary data to support diagnosis and treatment planning, working closely with physicians and clinical staff.

You will assist with setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment, ensuring timely results and contributing to a respectful patient experience in a hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• ARDMS certification preferred.
• Current CPR BLS (AHA) for healthcare provider.
• At least 1 year ultrasound experience in an acute care hospital.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality ultrasound examinations.
• Instructs, educates, and prepares patients for exams.
• Knowledge of patient preps for various ultrasound procedures.
• Proficient in filming and workstation protocols.
• Performs specialized procedures (biopsies, abscess drainage’s tube placement, etc.).
• Assesses patient before, during and after procedures.
• Exhibits courteous, compassionate, and respectful interaction with patients and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
