NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for per diem cardio-non-invasive duties. The role performs all echocardiography tests, supports physicians and nurses, and collaborates to promote patient safety and quality care.

The successful candidate will have a technical diploma and ARDMS/CCI/RDCS/RCCS credentials with current BLS certification. Experience with multiple echo machines is preferred, with duties including quality control and staff orientation as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma or equivalent.
• Credential in echocardiography required from ARDMS/CCI/RDCS/RCCS.
• Current and valid BLS certification.
• Experience performing echocardiography with various echo machines.

Responsabilités

• Performs trans/thoracic echocardiograms, stress echo (exercise and pharmacological) per guidelines.
• Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements; adjusts exam for image quality and use of contrast as needed.
• Responds to stat calls; reports life-threatening pathology to attending physician.
• Prepares echocardiogram procedures including equipment, supplies, and paperwork.
• Assists in orientation of new employees as needed.
• Maintains daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues as needed.
