Job summary

BHcare is seeking a dedicated Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate to provide crucial support to adults and children in a safe house. This role is key in creating a nurturing environment that empowers clients towards healing and independence.

The Advocate will welcome residents, offer crisis intervention, and collaborate with community resources. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting survivors. BHcare provides a mission-driven working environment aimed at breaking the cycle of domestic violence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; or Associate’s degree and 2 years work experience.
• Two years of advocacy experience with domestic violence survivors preferred.
• Must obtain domestic violence counselor certification and maintain CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new residents and provide orientation to the shelter.
• Offer crisis intervention and emotional support.
• Collaborate with community partners to meet client needs.
