Job summary

Waypoint is seeking a Residential Per Diem Direct Support Professional to support members within Waypoint by modeling healthy relationships, effective communication, and promoting independence. The DSP will work safely within a team and represent Waypoint in community and home settings.

Starting pay rate is $18/hour for per diem positions; duties include assisting with daily living activities, ensuring a clean, safe residence, and following all safety procedures and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, families, coworkers and other professionals.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
• IT skills to enter time & attendance, documentation of service, manage trainings, and communicate with supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
• Provide support and guidance for members during skills building activities.
• Implement individual treatment plans and positive support plans for members.
• Encourage self-help skill building by supporting daily living activities including meals, cleanup, and personal hygiene.
• Transport residents in approved vehicles for activities and medical appointments.
• Exercise sound judgment to ensure safety and notify supervisor of issues.
