Job summary

United Counseling Service (UCS) is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals for Specialized Services to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism in Bennington County. This on-call, per diem role is part of a 24/7 support team and requires flexibility to respond to calls or schedule gaps.

Under the Program Coordinator, you will deliver individualized supports, monitor well-being, assist with daily living, health tasks, and transport as needed, while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Direct Service experience preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for internal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide services in a respectful, friendly, and professional manner that supports client choice.
• Facilitate conversations and activities that match the individual’s interests.
• Offer guidance, companionship, emotional support, and supervision to ensure safety.
• Follow Medicaid Specialized Services regulations and implement the individual’s treatment plan.
• Assist with record keeping and data collection according to ISA and behavior support plans.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and participate in team meetings to problem-solve.
