Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking Per-Diem Direct Support Professionals to staff residences across all five boroughs. Positions are part-time with shifts evenings and overnights, 8-40 hours per week depending on availability.

Pay rate is $20 per hour, with bilingual candidates a plus; training provided. Responsibilities include supporting people with I/DD in daily living, community participation, advocacy, safety, and building meaningful relationships.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to teach, provide counseling, and be capable of problem solving.
• Willingness to assist with Activities of Daily Living (e.g., meals, cleaning, hygiene).
• Experience with I/DD population preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support people with I/DD in community participation and advocacy.
• Provide daily living assistance and skill-building activities.
• Promote safety and health considerations for the person supported.
• Work one-to-one or in group settings across various environments.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent communication.
