Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Care Professional to support youth with complex needs in Rutland, MA. You will provide direct supervision, engage therapeutically, and help teach ADL skills in a compassionate, safe environment.

Must be 21+, have a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred), and MAPS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Valid driver's license and a 2-week orientation are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Active driver’s license is required.
• High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders and autism spectrum disorders.
• MAPS certification required or able to obtain within 6 months for Group Home Setting.
• Must attend a 2 week paid orientation, Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Provide safety and security for youth by direct supervision.
• Provide therapeutic interventions in a compassionate, safe environment.
• Engage with youth to teach appropriate behaviors and reinforce positives.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
• Complete required documentation such as progress notes and incident reports.

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision .
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
