Job summary

Ryders Health Management, Mystic Healthcare in Mystic, CT is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support residents’ daily meals and nourishment. This per diem role involves helping prepare and serve meals, maintaining dining areas, and upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will work 1st or 2nd shifts, assist with tray delivery and dietary modifications as needed, and collaborate with dietary staff and nursing teams to ensure residents receive appropriate meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent).
• Food service or healthcare dietary experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow dietary/tray orders and diet cards.
• Strong attention to sanitation and safety.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages according to dietary guidelines, tray orders, and facility protocols.
• Serve meals to residents and deliver trays as scheduled, ensuring correct diets and portioning.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of dining areas; wash dishes and sanitize surfaces.
• Store and handle food properly to meet all safety standards.
• Monitor inventory, stock supplies, and assist with storage and kitchen/pantry maintenance.
• Accommodate special diets or dietary modifications as required.
• Communicate with residents and nursing staff regarding dietary needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or supervisor.
