Guidewell Emergency Doctors is seeking a CT/X-ray Technologist to perform high-quality imaging with proper protocols. You will support diagnostic imaging, participate in QA, and maintain patient records across multiple clinic locations.

The role requires an active Florida license, AART and BLS certifications, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 30% may be required to support market operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality diagnostic CT/X-ray images using proper scan protocols.
  • Participate in QA activities and maintain patient logs and RIS forms.
  • Maintain repeat/retake rate below 7% of images each month.
  • Understand CT imaging workflow: PACS, archiving, image sending; perform tasks accurately and error-free.
  • Ensure patient safety with pre-screening for radiation contraindications and aseptic techniques.
  • Perform IV insertion after training.
  • Communicate findings clearly with patients and providers; maintain professional interactions.
  • Follow facility protocols and complete daily checklists; participate in huddles and training.

The CT/X-Ray Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner and the Diagnostic Imaging, including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit. The CT/X-Ray Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Guidewell Emergency Doctors. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Summary

The CT/X-Ray Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner and the Diagnostic Imaging, including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit. The CT/X-Ray Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Guidewell Emergency Doctors. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Produces high quality diagnostic images to include a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question.
  • Participates in QA activities to include maintenance of patient logs and RIS forms.
  • Keep Repeat/Retake percentage less than 7% of all images for each month.
  • Understand the process of computed radiology, image processing, archiving, and sending of images to the PACS stations and perform these tasks accurately and free of error.
  • Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
  • IV insertion after successful completion of training and competency.
  • Maintains proactive, effective communication with patient and the provider regarding any findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate.
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
  • Know and practice organizational values and adhere to organizational protocols.
  • Follow the information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance.
  • Function in a manner that supports the facility in meeting or exceeding goals set forth in the quality metrics (Door to EKG, Troponin TAT, Door to Antibiotic, Etc.)
  • Support the Facility Leader (FL) and Lead Rad Tech by being a positive team player.
  • Completion of daily checklists.
  • Participate in morning huddles when on shift.
  • Accurate completion of clinical inventory as assigned.
  • Participate in facility specific education and training (i.e., OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, ALARA, etc.)
  • Timely completion of tasks as assigned by the Lead Rad Tech or FL.
  • Follow the information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance.

Required Education
  • Associate’s degree.
Required Experience
  • 1 year’s relevant experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Active State of Florida License.
  • Active AART Certification.
  • Must hold an active BLS certification.

  • Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test.
  • Must be successfully credentialed within each facility you will be performing shifts.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to perform the duties expected for an active role in a busy medical environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.)
  • Able to stand and work up to a 12-hour shift in the facility.

Travel

Up to 30% travel to support clinic operations across the market. Travel may include coverage at other clinic locations, trainings, meetings, and other operational needs as they arise. Ability to travel between local facilities (50-mile radius) in order to cover shifts.
