Job summary

Sanitas in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time CT/X-ray Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. The role involves performing CT and radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, and maintaining accurate RIS/PACS documentation.

You will work on-site at Hillsborough - GEMD - West Tampa and support patient safety with aseptic technique and proper shielding. Required qualifications include an Associates degree in Radiologic Technology, active FL license, AART

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required.
  • 1 year experience.
  • Active State of Florida License.
  • Active AART Certification.
  • Must hold an active BLS certification.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produces high quality diagnostic images using proper scan protocols.
  • Maintains patient logs and RIS forms.
  • Keep Repeat/Retake rate under 7% for each month.
  • Process CT images, archiving and sending to PACS.
  • Ensure patient safety and aseptic injection techniques.
  • IV insertion after training and competency.
  • Communicate findings with patients and providers as appropriate.
  • Check equipment operation and cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Follow security policies and ALARA training.
  • Complete daily checklists and participate in morning huddles.

Job Shift: On Site

Job Summary: The CT/X-Ray Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner and the Diagnostic Imaging, including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of this unit. The CT/X-Ray Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Guidewell Emergency Doctors. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Produces high quality diagnostic images to include a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question.
  • Participates in QA activities to include maintenance of patient logs and RIS forms.
  • Keep Repeat/Retake percentage less than 7% of all images for each month.
  • Understand the process of computed radiology, image processing, archiving, and sending of images to the PACS stations and perform these tasks accurately and free of error.
  • Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
  • IV insertion after successful completion of training and competency.
  • Maintains proactive, effective communication with patient and the provider regarding any findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate.
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
  • Know and practice organizational values and adhere to organizational protocols.
  • Follow the information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance.
  • Function in a manner that supports the facility in meeting or exceeding goals set forth in the quality metrics (Door to EKG, Troponin TAT, Door to Antibiotic, Etc.)
  • Support the Facility Leader (FL) and Lead Rad Tech by being a positive team player.
  • Completion of daily checklists.
  • Participate in morning huddles when on shift.
  • Accurate completion of clinical inventory as assigned.
  • Participate in facility specific education and training (i.e., OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, ALARA, etc.)
  • Timely completion of tasks as assigned by the Lead Rad Tech or FL
  • Follow the information security policies and management system, contributing to their effectiveness, and actively reporting on their performance.

Required Education
  • Associates degree.
Required Experience
  • 1 year’s experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Active State of Florida License.
  • Active AART Certification.
  • Must hold an active BLS certification.

  • Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test.
  • Must be successfully credentialed within each facility you will be performing shifts.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to perform the duties expected for an active role in a busy medical environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.).

Travel

Ability to travel between local facilities (50-mile radius) in order to cover shifts. Up to 30% travel to support clinic operations across the market. Travel may include coverage at other clinic locations, training, meetings, and other operational needs as they arise.
