Description

To perform CT Scan studies of anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Assist, prepare, and position patients for imaging procedures.
2. Perform CT scans and other diagnostic exams.
3. Apply technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies according to protocols and patient needs.
4. Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures.
5. Operate all CT imaging equipment, including injectors.
6. Prepare patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes.
7. Assist in preparation of sterile instruments for CT Biopsies.
8. Assist physicians with room setup and procedures.
9. Load and program contrast media injectors per departmental protocols.
10. Operate equipment and set controls under radiologist’s guidance.
11. Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists.
12. Practice radiation safety to minimize exposure.
13. Perform quality assurance procedures.
14. Label images appropriately and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
15. Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment.
16. Maintain supplies needed for imaging procedures.
17. Record patient tracking information accurately in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
18. Schedule exams into the system as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State License (L.R.T.).
• ARRT certification with current CT certification; new grads considered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Position based at Mount Sinai St. Luke's in the Non-Bargaining Unit, CAV - Interventional Radiology.
