Job summary

St. Peter's Hospital in Albany is seeking a CT Technologist II for a per diem position in Medical Imaging. This role involves performing all CT procedures under the Chief of Medical Imaging while ensuring patient safety and ALARA compliance.

Qualifications

• AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years' CT experience.
• Current ARRT registration, NYS license with injection certification.
• Experience with Siemens equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records a complete clinical history for examinations.
• Evaluates requests for appropriateness and refers concerns to the radiologist.
• Instructs patients about the exam and prepares them for procedures.
• Communicates post-procedure information to patients and care teams.
• Ensures ALARA principles and radiation protection measures are followed.
• Participates in the dosimetry program and ALARA training.
• Completes documentation related to patient care and RIS requirements.
• Uses positioning devices and equipment to perform safe, accurate exams.
• Assists in training of new personnel.
