The certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) works under the supervision of a physician anesthesiologist who is a member of the Medical Staff with privileges to provide anesthesia services. Except for emergencies, all anesthetic delivered is done so under the supervision of the attending anesthesiologist.
The manner of compensation shall be according to the mutual desires and rights of the contracting parties. The supervising physician is responsible for the quality and appropriateness of care provided by the CRNA. The CRNA will document all care in the chart as appropriate exams, procedures, progress notes, labor record, anesthesia record, etc. . If the CRNA bills independently for his/her services, the patients shall be so notified before any billable service is rendered.
