Job summary

Fusion Healthcare Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton, MA, seeks a skilled kitchen supervisor to oversee daily food service for residents. You will prepare meals, train staff, control inventory, and ensure safety and sanitation to meet state requirements.

The role requires a formal culinary training program, a GED or high school diploma, and at least 3 years of line cooking in high-volume settings, plus supervision of a team.

Qualifications

• Requires GED or high school diploma, plus formal culinary training.
• Minimum 3 years in-line cooking in a high-volume setting (100+ meals).
• Experience supervising at least 5 employees.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate menus and direct training of kitchen staff with the Registered Dietitian.
• Prepare meals, cook and serve food to a high standard of quality and appearance.
• Manage cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area sanitation per County/State requirements.
• Hire, train, supervise and orient dietary department staff.
• Collaborate with Registered Dietitian to meet residents' clinical nutrition needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates menus and directs the training of cooks and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and satisfactory food service by working with the Registered Dietitian
• Prepares meals, cooks and serves food while maintaining a high standard of quality and appearance
• Manages cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies
• Maintains kitchen and food safety standards according to County and State requirements
• Responsible for overall kitchen and dining room sanitation and cleanliness
• Hires, trains, supervises and orients dietary department employees and counsels when necessary
• Works with Registered Dietitian to meet the clinical requirements for the health of our residents

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Successful completion of a formal culinary training program.
• Experience in-line cooking for 3 plus years in medium to high volume restaurant (100 plus people) and 3 plus years supervising a minimum of 5 employees.
