Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for per diem hospital-based work across Tacoma General Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Auburn Medical Center in Washington. The CNM will provide comprehensive obstetric care, collaborate with OB-GYNs, and support labor and delivery teams.

The role requires RN and APRN licensure in WA, ACNM-certified training, active CNM certification or eligibility, obstetric clinical experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

• RN license in Washington State required.
• ACNM-accredited nurse-midwifery program completion required.
• Active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or pursuing initial certification) required.
• Clinical experience in obstetrics/gynecology or women's health.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and newborns.
• Conduct routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams.
• Offer family planning services and contraceptive counseling.
• Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births.
• Monitor mother and baby health during and after childbirth.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.
• Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and maternal mental health.
