Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes in Scarborough is seeking Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team and help meet our weekend staffing needs.

The role offers a starting wage of $24.75 per hour with additional evening ($4.00), night ($5.00), and weekend ($2.50) differentials, stacked to boost pay for weekend coverage and time-off requests. Per diem CNAs provide care on weekends, holidays, and when staff is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Must be active and in good standing on the Maine CNA Registry.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English.
• Basic computer skills.

About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the nursing team who provides residents with daily nursing care in accordance with each resident’s assessment and Plan of Care.

• Review care plans and provide care accordingly

• Communicate with care staff at all levels to adequately meet the needs of residents

Per Diem Requirements

• Work an average of 8 hours per two-week pay period
• Work a minimum of 16 weekend hours per month
• Weekend availability is required
