Job summary

Heritage Oaks Hospital in Sacramento, part of the UHS Family, is seeking a Per Diem Outpatient Therapist (LCSW/LMFT) to support adolescents, adults, and seniors. You will deliver bio-psychosocial care, crisis intervention, and short- and long-term family therapy, with opportunities to coordinate with community providers and courts as needed.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work or MFT, CA BBS licensure (LCSW/LMFT) and at least one year in a psychiatric setting, plus CPR and Handle With

• Minimum one year of psychiatric health care facility experience with family and group therapies and crisis intervention.
• License: California BBS registration; LCSW or LMFT credential.

Heritage Oaks Hospital is currently looking for a Per Diem Outpatient Therapist LCSW/LMFT to join our Team! The Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills achievement of their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress.
• Interact and communicate with community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.
• Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appears in court when requested or subpoenaed.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy, or related discipline.

Experience: Social Worker requires a minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.

License: Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences required. LCSW/LMFT required.

Additional Requirements: CPR required. Handle With Care training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a department competency exam upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
