Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at the Wamego Medical Center in Wamego, KS. This per diem position offers flexibility to align with patient and testing needs while contributing to high-volume lab workflows.

The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring quality control to support accurate patient results. Prior lab experience and an associate degree in a chemistry or biology field are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• Two years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and ability to pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures; identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
