Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking qualified laboratory personnel to perform waived, moderate, and highly complex tests per CLIA. The role requires adherence to specimen handling, reporting, QC practices, and prompt communication of issues to supervisors.

Candidates should hold an ASCP certification and a health sciences degree with at least two years of hospital lab experience. State license, if required, must be current.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution or CLIA requirements.
• Current and valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests as authorized by CLIA.
• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions for test systems deviation.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or Medical Director as needed.
• Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment and document accordingly.
