Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Master's degree in divinity, theology, pastoral ministry or spirituality preferred.
• Completion of a minimum of four units of clinical pastoral education.
• Supervised experience within a clinical pastoral education program required.
• Endorsement by leader of their faith community; certification within two years of hire if not yet certified.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, provides, and documents spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in diverse situations (crisis, grief, end of life).
• Gathers data for ongoing spiritual assessment and develops a plan of care.
• Participates as a member of interprofessional teams and mentors pastoral education interns.
• Plans and facilitates worship services and provides resources to patients and families.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Master's degree in divinity/theology/pastoral ministry/spirituality

Clinical pastoral education (4 units)

Supervised experience in CPE

Endorsement by faith leader
