Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. in Fall River, MA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Cancer Center on a per diem, day-shift schedule. The role supports providers, manages patient flow, and uses EMR systems to update patient information.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program, BLS, and relevant certifications with 1 year of experience preferred. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are required or approved exemptions provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized courses.
• National certification within 13 months (AMCA/AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA).
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR/health-related software preferred.
• 1 year medical assisting experience preferred.
• Fluent in a language other than English; medical interpreting preferred.
• Other certifications may be preferred.
• Vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic.
• Handle telephone communications including test results and schedules.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide medical interpretation as needed.
