Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Sonography preferred
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • RCS through CCI or RDCS through ARDMS required
  • New Hampshire imaging license required upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound Exams: Independently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and related studies.
  • Assess and Prepare Patients for Procedures: Review histories and imaging to ensure proper exam protocols.
  • Document and Communicate Findings: Prepare preliminary reports and share findings with physicians promptly.
  • Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance Standards: Prep equipment and rooms; follow safety and privacy policies.
  • Support Exceptional Patient Experiences: Ensure patient comfort and ergonomic scanning.
  • Contribute to Departmental Excellence: Participate in quality improvement and scheduling coordination.

Job Summary

Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates in South Weymouth is located at 541 Main Street, South Weymouth, 02190. Join our team as a Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer and enjoy the flexibility to build a schedule that works for you! Our practice is open weekday hours from 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, as well as weekend coverage opportunities, giving you the ability to choose shifts that best fit your lifestyle. We are committed to working with your availability and offer flexible scheduling options, including both 4-hour and 8-hour shift blocks. Starting rate is $45/hour. Hourly pay is based on experience, education, and certifications, plus additional differentials, premiums, and incentives where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound Exams: Independently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Assess and Prepare Patients for Procedures: Review patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care.
  • Document and Communicate Findings: Prepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance Standards: Prepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.
  • Support Exceptional Patient Experiences: Utilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.
  • Contribute to Departmental Excellence: Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with scheduling and workflow coordination, and meet established productivity and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Sonography preferred
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required
  • Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred
  • New Hampshire locations: Medical Imaging License through the State of New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure & Certification (OPLC) required upon hire
