Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking a School/Cafeteria/Playground Aide for the 2026-2027 school year at a district site. This per diem, 2.5 hours per day assignment reports to the Building Principal and supports student safety and order.

Responsibilities include enforcing cafeteria/playground rules, assisting during lunch and recess, and coordinating with teachers and nurses for student well-being, with an emphasis on positive, calm interactions.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of 12th grade.
• Knowledge of school rules, student needs, first aid, and rules for student activities.
• Ability to deal courteously with students, staff, and the public.
• Ability to obtain respect and cooperation from students and assist with problems sympathetically.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to follow school rules consistently.
• Ability to stay composed and cooperative under stress.

Responsibilities

• Enforce district rules in cafeteria and playground.
• Assist students during lunch and recess at established stations.
• Treat students in a positive, fair, and consistent manner.
• Intervene in problematic student interactions to foster positive behavior.
• Communicate problems to teachers/nurse and serious incidents to Principal.
• Complete disciplinary forms and report recurring behavioral issues.
• Work with other coordinators professionally.
• Inspect playground equipment and report problems to the Principal.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
