Job summary

Unitek College in Sacramento, CA is seeking BSN clinical instructors for per diem roles to teach obstetrics and mentor nursing students in classroom and clinical settings.

Candidates will collaborate with faculty to develop and grade materials, evaluate student performance, and participate in curriculum development. A current RN license and a Master’s degree with nursing/education coursework are required; prior teaching experience is not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state
• Master of Nursing or higher with nursing/education coursework
• At least four years of direct RN patient care
• Clinical teaching experience within the last five years
• Expertise in OB-Gyn, Pediatrics, or related areas

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, focusing on obstetrics
• Collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations
• Evaluate student performance and maintain attendance, grades, and clinical records
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement, and program assessment
• Orient and mentor new faculty in theory and clinical instruction; apply adult learning principles and technology
• Maintain current knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and student advising
• Ensure clinical assignments meet learning objectives and facility requirements
• Submit reports to the program director in a timely manner
• Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission
