Job summary

JAG Physical Therapy is seeking a per diem Athletic Trainer to support Somerset County, NJ. The AT will practice under state licensure bylaws and follow NATA and BOC standards, performing duties aligned with contracted sites and JAG policies.

The role emphasizes athletic event coverage, prevention and care, documentation, and collaboration with other JAG professionals, within HIPAA/FERPA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training and BOC certification.
• Maintain the BOC-required CEUs per certification period (every two years).
• Licensed by the State of New Jersey as an Athletic Trainer.
• NJ Department of Education clearance.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• Maintain Personal Liability Insurance.
• Flexibility and adaptability to fluid situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide AT services for athletic events and competition.
• Coordinate, manage, and implement medical and risk management for all athletes, including preventative care and emergency care.
• Demonstrates speed, efficiency, and flexible care with strong critical thinking.
• Document injury, illness, treatment, rehabilitation in line with policies and licensure standards.
• Communicate with athlete, family, and others within HIPAA/FERPA guidelines.
• Collaborate with other JAG professionals in programs such as Physical Therapy and refer when needed.
• Regularly communicate with supervising physician regarding SOPs.
