UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator in collaboration with ProHealth Care and Optum. This per diem role supports the emergency department, admitting, switchboard, and information desk across multiple Wisconsin sites, with flexible shifts and travel among locations.

You will greet patients, verify insurance, handle pre-authorizations, collect payments, and assist with medical record management while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualificações

  • 1+ years of customer service in a healthcare/hospital setting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work on a Per Diem basis between 6:45am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
  • Ability to travel to other local sites, per business need.

Responsabilidades

  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts.
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits.
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors; answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Maintain medical records and prepare for scheduling; scan and file correspondence.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinatoris responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

This position covers the emergency department, admitting, switchboard, and information desk areas, in a variety of shifts.

This position is per diem. Employees are required to have flexibility to work2 shifts per pay period, 1 weekend per calendar month, 2 holidays per year.

  • Heart & Vascular Center (primary location for the Heart & Vascular clinics) - 725 American Ave., Waukesha, WI, 53188 (main site)
  • Heart and Vascular – Mukwonago - 240 Maple Ave., Mukwonago, WI, 53149
  • Heart and Vascular – Oconomowoc - 1185 Corporate Center Drive, Oconomowoc, WI, 53066

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answers phones and schedules, appointments and procedures
  • Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience with customer service in a healthcare/hospital setting
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work on a Per Diem basis between the hours of 6:45am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Ability to travel to other local sites, per business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office/Urgent Care position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
  • Prior experience with EMR computer applications
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
