Job summary

Boston Medical Center is actively seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Pool on a Per Diem schedule. The role combines clinical tasks under nurse/provider supervision with essential administrative duties such as patient information gathering, appointment scheduling, and registration support.

The position emphasizes delivering respectful, non-judgmental patient care, assisting with intake processes, and maintaining efficient patient flow throughout ambulatory clinics.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; at least two years of clinical experience preferred.
• Successful completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent clinical rotation is expected.
• Ability to communicate in English and provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care in a non-judgmental, respectful manner.
• Performs delegated patient care interventions under supervision of RN or Provider.
• Maintains patient flow and communicates wait times to patients.
• Gathers and documents vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Prepares for visits by chart review and identifying patient needs.
• Assists with intake, scheduling, and registration tasks as needed.
• Supports administrative duties including billing and chart management.
