Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Per Diem Ambulatory Care Nurse for North Babylon, NY. This role supports coordination of nursing practice, data collection, and collaboration with licensed providers to develop patient-centered care plans.

The incumbent will administer treatments and medications, perform triage, and participate in quality improvement activities. Strong nursing competencies and NYS RN licensure are required, with BLS and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Associate Degree in Nursing may be approved contingent upon Nursing Leadership approval.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Collects patient health history.
• Records information in electronic health record (EHR).
• Provides information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans.
• Administers medications (including vaccination, IV therapy, oxygen) and provides wound care; triage patients as needed.
• Assesses and monitors patient responses to treatments, procedures, and anesthesia.
• Consults with supervisors and providers to determine best treatment plans.
• Directs and delegates to LPNs, medical assistants, and technicians to support patient flow.
• Performs other duties as needed.
• Clinical responsibilities to support nursing practice, safety, and quality.
• Participates in compliance with NYULH standards and quality initiatives.
• Supports activities related to NYULH clinical standards and regulations.
• Contributes to NYU Langone Health mission and patient experience.
