Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Admission Intake Coordinator / Admission Nurse to support patient admissions in our behavioral health programs. This full-time evening shift (1:00pm–9:00pm) position collaborates with referral sources, insurance providers, and clinical staff to complete assessments and place patients in appropriate services.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, a Master’s or Bachelor’s in a related field, NJ licensure, and

Qualifications

• RN licensed in New Jersey
• Master’s degree in counseling/psychology/related field
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related field with NJ license or crisis intervention certification
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related field without licensing will be considered
• Minimum of one-year experience in psychiatric care
• Previous crisis intervention experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with referral agencies to facilitate admissions for inpatient/outpatient care
• Assess patients for psychiatric evaluation and admission to determine appropriate referrals
• Provide comprehensive level of care assessment and treatment recommendations
• Handle inquiry calls from referral sources, patients, and families seeking options
• Coordinate with insurance for authorizations of treatment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with department Director and Supervisor for compliance with state and facility requirements
• For Nurses: provide comprehensive medical evaluations for referrals and obtain orders for admit
• Maintain strict confidentiality
