Job summary

University of California San Diego Health is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse (Acute Dialysis) to oversee dialysis patient care across multiple sites, ensure prescriptions are followed, and perform pre- and post-dialysis assessments. The position requires a California RN license, dialysis experience, BART/BLS/CPR, and at least two years of dialysis experience, with a 12-hour shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license.
• BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire; commit to obtain BART within 6 months.
• Minimum two years of dialysis experience.
• Minimum one year of acute dialysis experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee care of multiple dialysis patients and ensure prescriptions are followed.
• Perform required pre- and post-dialysis nursing assessments.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary dialysis team across multiple locations.
• Monitor infection control and regulatory interventions as outlined.
• Provide autonomous nursing care consistent with ANA standards.
