Job summary

PolyPeptide Laboratories in San Diego, CA is seeking Production Chemist I, II, and III to support the manufacture of APIs in a cGMP environment. Roles span upstream synthesis and downstream purification; growth path and hands-on manufacturing experience with advanced peptide technologies.

Level-based scope includes batch records, HPLC, lyophilization, IPCs, ALCOA+, and safety; collaborating with QA, QC, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
• High School Diploma with GMP experience may be considered (Chemist I).

Responsibilities

• Execute batch production records per SOPs and GxP requirements.
• Operate reactors, drying systems, purification HPLCs, and lyophilization.
• Perform in‑process controls (IPCs) and interpret analytical results (e.g., HPLC).
• Ensure proper material handling, inventory management, and ERP documentation following ALCOA+ principles.
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, PPE usage, and 5S practices.
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams including QA, QC, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
